Flat Plan

From making this flat plan I have learnt about how the dfferent pages are laid out throughout the magazine. There are various different parts of the magazine including articles, adverts and pages of photos. I have also learnt about how the pages have been ordered and the importance of the layout of the pages. 

Pitch for magazine

From making this magazine pitch I have learnt about all of the valuable aspects of magazines which make them successful. I have looked at similar magazines to my own and the features that are included in their magazine and I am planning to use some of the similar things in my magazine. 

Thinking of a Concept

From this task I have learnt about all the different possibilities that I could use for my magazine. I have been able to chose the genre, the name of the magazine and the logo. I have learnt about the importance of all of these factors and this is why I have spent a long deciding on the name and the logo for my magazine.

Picture Research

From this task I have learnt all of the different angles that are used in magazines. I have also learnt about all of the different angles and the reason for them in the magazine. I have looked at the angles and the effect that they have on the magazine and how the angles can improve or change the emphasis on a photo and an article. 

Representation of Music Magazines

From this task I have learnt that music magazines represent themselves in various different ways. They are also able to represent the artists that are in the magazine. I have looked at all the different techniques that were used to represent the magazine and I found this very interesting. 

Double Page Spread Analysis

From doing this task I have learnt about all of the different double page spreads that are used in current music magazines. I have looked at the layout of the page and the content that is included on the page. This task has been useful because I have been able to see the way magazines are laid out and some of the reasons for this.  

Contents Page Analysis

From doing this task I have learnt about the importance of the contents page within any magazine. I have also looked at all of the different features that are used in the magazine. The layout of a contents page is very important as it will be able to let the reader know about the location of certain articles within the magazines.

Formatting Research

From this task I have learnt that how some magazine pages are laid out. The layout changes on different pages. The front cover has a lot less pages on them and the photo is the focal point of the page. On the contents page and double page spread have a lot more information and all of the page are filled. From what I have learnt in this task it will help me to decide on the layout of my pages within my magazine.

Survey Results

From this task I have learnt about my potential audience and who they are. I have learnt this from the results of my survey. The questions that I asked are part of the reason that I was able to get the information about the people that I wanted to know about them.

Flat Plan

By doing this piece of research I have learnt that in the contents of my magazine I need to include a double page spread which is either an article or an interview with an artist. It is also important that the magazine will include a contents page and possibly and advert.
