Question 7
At the end of creating the magazine I have learnt a lot about the developing and the construction of the magazine and the process that I went through. I have learnt and developed my Photoshop skills by making my magazine. I already had a good level of Photoshop skills when I started this project. I have learnt about the way to represent the genre of my magazine through the way that I design the layout of the magazine. I have learnt about the forms and conventions of the magazine. I have taken my idea from Clash magazine and I adapted my idea to meet the forms and conventions of Clash.
From the preliminary task I have learnt a large amount about music magazines and the processes that I must go through to produce a music magazine. I have looked at the different ways to present my magazine and the use of layout in the magazine pages. The preliminary task was a very basic magazine, it lacked detail and was poor in comparison to the final product that I have produced. I have improved in my ability to present information in an attractive and appealing manor. I have learnt about this through the research which I have carried out. A major difference from the preliminary task towards the final product is the use of a consistent colour scheme. I have developed an understanding of what needs to be done in terms of the colours which I use on the page. The preliminary task began with a random selection of images which did not match and where not related to each other. This is in comparison with my final product which followed a consistent colour scheme and the images had been selected as they fitted into the page and where appropriate for the purpose of the image.
