This is the text which is on my contents page. To get this effect I downloaded a smoke brush for the eraser tool. The brush was from http://www.brusheezy.com/brushes/1830-real-smoke-photoshop-brushes. Originally the text had plain square boxes around the white text. I decided to add to add this effect because I felt that it added to the page and made it more interesting.

Double Page Spread photo
This is the photo which I have used on the second of my double page spread. I have chosen to edit this photo in the way that I have based on the way in which photos are put together in Clash. Some of the images in Clash have been manipulated in a similar way. To construct this photo I have used the rectangular select tool to select different sections of the image. I then used the 'cut via select' to isolate the selected area as another layer and because I was able to alter this layer using the transformation tool. I changed the size of the layer and I have rotated some of the layers to make the image more interesting. The central part of the image which includes the clothing logo is in colour. To do this I have duplicated the layer below and then selected the top layer and went over it with the history brush. This removed the black and white which was on all of the image. I altered the colour balance slightly to increase the red levels as this meant that the photo would highlight the red of the logo and it would emphasize the brand which is very important for the article and my magazine as a whole.

Page numbers
These are the page numbers that I am planning to use within my magazine. I will alternate between the two coloured page numbers depending on the background that is behind the number.
Double page spread shoot
For this shoot I have used a studio and a fixed flash gun. This meant that I was able to get the model to move in between the flashes which were set off. This meant that it created the effect of being more than one of him

Typography
From doing this task I have been able to learn about what fonts would be most appropriate for my magazine. I looked at the size of the font and how bold it is. The different types of fonts can have different impacts as they represent different things and they relate to my genre.
Drop caps often feature at the beginning of an article to draw your eye to it, they are 'dropped' in at the start, often taking up three to four lines of text. It is always the first letter of the first word that is 'dropped' in. It also indicates to the reader where to start.
Colour and Sizes
The colour and the size of the font is very important on a magazine page. It can determine how successful the magazine is. The fonts can attract people to the magazine because of the way that it stands out against the rest of the page. I am planning to use colours such as black, grey and white for my text. This is because it will contrast with the background and it. These colour schemes will also reflect the genre of music and it will be represented in the correct way.
Photo shoot planning
By planning this shoot I will be able to decide on the type of images that I will capture before I go out to do the shoot. This will hep the shoot to be better because it will mean that I can have the best plan and idea of what I want to achieve.
Double page spread
Joe King, the biggest up and coming artist is
now the new face of Stussy UK. Maverick has had the fortune of catching up with Joe to reflect on his involvement
with the brand and what it means for him and what it could do for his career.
The brand has always worked with young,
passionate, hard working and successful individuals. The overall quality of the
brand attracted King to the brand in the first place. “I had the meeting with the
people from Stussy and they’re really into collaborations. They’ve worked with
other artists such as Josh Southway and Dave Kitson. These are both artists who
I look up to and it I’m very happy to have linked up with Stussy.” It’s not all
about the music for Joe, as
He is also a big fan of the products that are available. “I’m a big fan of Stussy. It is
The sort of brand that I will be happy to represent.
Joe’s music has developed greatly over the last few years. ”It’s been crazy! I can’t
believe that so much has happened in such a short space of time. I’ve gone from
playing gigs with less than ten people in the back of a pub to selling out
arenas and the prospect of tour in 2014. I feel that the deal with Stussy will
help me in my career.”
Planning the layout
Front page
Contents page
Double page spread
From this plan you can see that my magazine will be very simplistic. The reason for this is that I am planning to have a magazine which is in a similar style to CLASH. This is a magazine which covers covers a number of other topics as well as music. The layout of the pages in CLASH is also very simple. I like the way that it is laid out and I think that it ill look very clean and sharp. The images that I will use of the magazine will have to be very powerful images which are able to reflect the genre of music that I am representing.

Logo Planning
From looking through and choosing my logos I have learnt a number of thinks. I have learnt about what makes a good logo. I have also learnt about the reasons for using a certain, including the representation and the ability to attract readers. I have looked at using different colours and I decided that I will use dark colours including black, white and grey.
Rate Card
From this task I have learnt about the different features that need to be included in a rate card. I have looked at all of the different statistics that I collected from my survey. This helps to look at all the people that will be reading the magazine and the things that all the people will enjoy the type of things that are available in my magazine.
